The Maryland is within easy walking of the seafront and promenade. Great Yarmouth’s famous ‘Golden Mile’ starts on the seafront at Britannia Pier with its theatre and ends at the Wellington Pier Bowl. In between you will find a fantastic range of attractions including; adventure golf, model village, Sea Life Centre, Hippodrome Circus and let’s not forget the Pleasure Beach just past Wellington Pier. If all that fun makes you in need of something to eat and drink there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants along the way.

If something more relaxing is more your style, why not take a stroll around the recently restored Venetian Waterways with its water gardens and boating lake situated along North Drive.

If you fancy a little retail therapy you will find Regent Road, the town centre and the market place just 10 minutes away from The Maryland. Between them they offer a wide variety of things to choose from.

Great Yarmouth’s heritage can be traced back over 1,000 years and has the 2nd most complete medieval town wall. Other heritage attractions well worth making time to see would include; Great Yarmouth Minster, the Fisherman’s Hospital, Elizabethan House, Tolhouse Gaol, Row Houses and of course the award-winning Time and Tide Museum.

Throughout the summer Great Yarmouth also hosts a wide range of events and festivals including horse, greyhound and stock car racing, Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival, Festival of Bowls, Maritime Festival and Summer Fireworks.
You will have your pick of 10 beautiful beaches and over 60 tourist attractions to choose from.

Great Yarmouth is also a great location to use as a base for discovering other areas of Lord Nelson’s county, from the tranquillity of the broads to the beauty of the North Norfolk coast. Norwich also has a lot to offer with shopping malls, market, The Lanes and 2 cathedrals.

We have a large selection of leaflets available on our reception desk to help you decide what to do and where to go.

There is lots to do and see for all ages, for a perfect holiday at The Maryland Guest House.

“Very comfortable, with good en suite & breakfast”
I was very comfortable. I was welcomed by Lucy & Dave & had a comfortable bed & surroundings. Breakfast was plentiful with excellent coffee!
Dave gave me some helpful local advice & I felt confident that if I needed anything I would be helped to get it.
Overall my stay was good value for money & B/B in other towns could learn from the example set at The Maryland.
