Seajacks

Seajacks

The Great Yarmouth Maritime Festival is proud to be sponsored again this year by Seajacks, the locally based leading owners and operators of two self-propelled jack-up vessels, Kraken and Leviathan, which facilitate the installation and maintenance of offshore wind turbines and the service and maintenance of offshore oil and gas platforms.

Seajacks Kraken and Seajacks Leviathan were constructed by Lamprell Energy in Dubai and delivered on time/on budget in Q1/Q2 2009 respectively. These state-of-the-art, self-propelled jack-up vessels were built and are operated in compliance with the most stringent regulations and in accordance with standard procedures required to operate in North Sea hydrocarbon industry. Vessels have HSE accepted Safety Cases in accordance with UK Offshore Installation (Safety Case) Regulations 2005.

They are equipped with DP2 capability which allows for fast, safe and cost-efficient transit and positioning between locations, not only transforming operations in the oil and gas industry, but also facilitating efficient installation and maintenance of offshore windfarms.

In 2009, Seajacks Kraken successfully completed an accommodation/support project in Halifax, Canada for ExxonMobil at Thebaud Platform, Nova Scotia.

Subsequently, vessel carried out a well intervention project for TAQA Energy BV in Dutch Sector of the North Sea and is currently on 15-month contract with DONG Energy to perform windfarm installation work at Walney windfarm located in Irish Sea.

Seajacks Leviathan is undertaking 15-month contract with Fluor for work on Greater Gabbard Offshore Windfarm project located off Suffolk/Essex coast.

In June 2010 Seajacks entered into a contract with Lamprell shipyard to build two purpose-built windfarm installation vessels; Seajacks will take delivery of first new-build, Seajacks Zaratan, May 2012 and additional new-build shortly thereafter.

These self propelled jack-ups have been designed specifically to service the windfarm installation market in the harsh operating environment of the North Sea, as well as to provide services to the oil and gas industry. They will incorporate fully-redundant DP2 propulsion system, accommodation for 90 persons, and an 800T leg encircling crane.
