Thurne is a small village and beauty spot to the north west of the Borough of Great Yarmouth at the confluence of the River Bure and the River Thurne with a few small shops and a pub..
The village is located at the end of a dyke beside the famous white painted tower Thurne Drainage mill built in 1920 (open days in Summer and on National Mills Open Weekend in May).
There are many local paths offering good walks including 'The Weavers Way' and there is a bike hire centre in the next door village of Clippesby.
