Beaches and Piers

Relax and enjoy our soft, clean, sandy beaches all year round. The Greater Yarmouth coastline stretches along 15 miles of beautiful sandy beach, past sand dunes and seaside amusements, taking in donkey rides and bouncy castles from Winterton-on-Sea in the north to Hopton-on-Sea in the South.

The wide, clean, sandy beaches are some of the most beautiful stretches of beach in East Anglia, with miles of soft sand even at high tide. Our beaches are perfect for lazing the days away in summer, and just as ideal for walking at any time of the year.

We believe that our beaches should be enjoyed by everyone, so you'll find five specially designed beach wheelchairs available to hire from the Great Yarmouth Tourist Information Centre on Marine Parade. Now everyone can get on the beach, all year round.

The key focal points on Great Yarmouth seafront separating miles of sandy beach are the two piers. At the northern end the Britannia Pier stands proudly above the beach, while donkey rides take place below. The Wellington Pier is located further down Marine Parade towards the southern end of the strip and trips to see the seals at Scroby Sands leave from the shoreline between the two piers.
