Norwich and Norfolk

Norfolk
Norfolk is a big county covering coast, countryside, market towns, seaside towns, the Norfolk Broads and the city of Norwich. From exciting attractions such as theme parks and zoos to traditional windmills and historic houses there are more tourist attractions here than in many other counties.

Great Yarmouth is an ideal base for exploring whether by car, by train, by foot, by boat or on bicycle!

Visit http://www.visitnorfolk.co.uk/ for more information about the county or log-on to www.norfolktouristattractions.co.uk for more information about the wide range of attractions on offer across the county.

Norwich
Just 30 minutes drive from Great Yarmouth, Norwich is the most complete medieval city in Britain and the county capital of Norfolk. This compact city has lots to offer for a day out - a Norman Castle, two Cathedrals, superb heritage, museums, restaurants and cafés, the largest permanent outdoor market in the country and is included in the UK's top 10 list of shopping destinations. For more information click on http://www.visitnorwich.co.uk/

If you're driving why not use the colour-coded park and ride system - the nearest park and ride car park is at Postwick, just off the A47 and is served by orange buses. For more information including a map and a timetable, click here. It's really easy to use and drops you off right in the city centre.

If you'd rather relax and let someone else drive, the city centre is a short 15 minute walk from Norwich railway station, with direct trains back to Great Yarmouth. The Wherry Line passes through some of the most beautiful Norfolk countryside on the trip between the two towns, for more details click here. There is also a direct bus service leaving regularly from Market Gates, for timetable and route information for the X1 bus, click here.
