Park and Save bonus for resort motorists
Motorists are cashing in with bargains - and boosting local businesses - under a new Park and Save scheme launched in the Greater Yarmouth area this summer.
Tickets from machines across eight car parks in the borough can be used for discounts at more than 30 different businesses.
The bonuses are at attractions and eateries, but also high street services from hairdressers to butchers and dry cleaners.
The scheme is an initiative by the Greater Yarmouth Tourism and Business Investment Area seeking to give visitors to the area an extra perk, and encourage them to support other traders and tourism outlets during their stay.
GYTABIA chairman Gareth Brown said: “Visitors come to the Greater Yarmouth area for its wealth of attractions, entertainment venues and places to eat and shop.
“We want to give something back to the motorists parking in town as a 'thank you', while also driving trade to members of the Business Improvement District.
“The discount ticket can be used at businesses all over the borough, so if you park in Great Yarmouth one day, you will be able to use the discount voucher in Hemsby or Gorleston for example later that day or on the second day. ””
Eight borough council car parks are taking part in the scheme – six in Great Yarmouth, one in Gorleston and one in Caister.
Motorists will receive two tickets – one for the car and one to be taken away and used within 48 hours at outlets displaying a sign showing they are part of the Park and Save scheme.
Discount offers include: £4 off admission to Great Yarmouth Sea Life Centre, £2 off seats at the Hippodrome Circus, £1 off Pleasure Beach wristbands, 50p off Lost World Adventure Golf tickets,
10pc off laptops, mobile phones and TVs at King Street Traders, and discounts at Clean and Dry Services dry cleaning in Gorleston.
Each voucher has a unique reference code which the participating venue may wish to record. Tickets can be used once per venue and are valid for 48 hours from the time and date of issue, unless otherwise indicated.
