Young people will learn new skills to perform at Out There Festival in September

Mike Imerson of Dizzy O’Dare leads a Drillaz session on aerial hoop. Young people will showcase circus skills learned at a summer school during an international festival being held at Great Yarmouth next month.

Thirty young people, aged from eight to 18, will perform during the Out There Festival of circus and street arts on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September.

One of the regular features of the annual festival is a performance by young people from SeaChange Art’s Drillaz Circus School.

The year’s show is being led by SeaChange’s resident company, Dizzy O’Dare, supported by Mexican artists from Colectivo en breve.

The first summer school taster week took place last month. A second week, developing the show for the festival, begins on Monday August 21 and a few places are still available.

Mike Imerson of Dizzy O’Dare said: “It’s a truly unique opportunity, working with international tutors, creating and developing a brand new show, and then performing it at a major festival.”
