And from one end of the musical spectrum to another, rock concerts and classical performances are regularly hosted in the Hippodrome where hypnotists and comedians also perform. In 2012 St George's Theatre is set to re-open following significant restoration and conversion and this exciting new venue will be the setting for a number of shows and events.
The multi-screen cinema at the end of Great Yarmouth seafront shows all the latest films and Hollywood releases. Challenge friends and family to a game of ten-pin bowling along Regent Road or at the end of the Wellington Pier overlooking the waves. Enjoy a game of pool or snooker on the seafront, have a thrilling evening at the greyhound track or watching the stock car racing. For horseracing with a difference, try Live Music Nights at the racecourse from June to August. Great Yarmouth also has two casinos and several bingo halls throughout the resort.
Wednesday evenings in the school summer holidays are a bit special in Great Yarmouth with fantastic firework displays on Central Beach throughout the school summer holidays. With the attractions all open later than usual, for crazy golf by moonlight, thrills and spills at The Pleasure Beach and illuminations at the Model Village make Wednesday evenings a real holiday highlight.
If you've got plans to dance the night away head for Regent Road and the seafront where bright lights, music and a heady atmosphere will make sure you have a great night out. Great Yarmouth has a variety of nightclubs playing music for every taste and style, from disco music and pop anthems, to dance and R'n'B.
