Parking in Greater Yarmouth
Parking in Greater Yarmouth is easy with both long stay and short stay car parks run by Great Yarmouth Borough Council, as well as on-street parking run by Norfolk County Council.
On Great Yarmouth seafront, short stay car parks are open all year. Charges vary depending on the season. Summer charges come into effect on 1 April until the end of October. On our downloadable map, long-stay car parks are marked in blue, short-stay car parks are marked in red.
Long stay car parks are usually open from Easter until the end of October. There are two long stay car parks on Great Yarmouth seafront.
North Drive Long Stay car park is on North Drive, between the Waterways and the basket ball courts.
St. Nicholas Long Stay car park is opposite Pleasure Beach Gardens at the southern end of the seafront.
Watch out for the car parks at either end of the Marina Centre. These car parks are primarily for users of the fitness and leisure centre and as such, visitors who aren't planning on using the fitness facilities are charged a much higher rate to park here.
All other car parks along the seafront on the beach side are standard short stay car parks.
Additional short stay and long stay borough council car parks which are open all year round can be found nearer Great Yarmouth town centre. The town centre is only a short 10-15 minute walk from the seafront.
All borough council car parks on Great Yarmouth seafront, as well as the council car park at Tan Lane in Caister-on-Sea and on Gorleston High Street are participating in the Park&Save scheme starting from Easter. Use the second ticket issued from the machine to get special offers from participating businesses.
On-street parking is also available all along Marine Parade in Great Yarmouth. On-street parking is free from 1 November to 31 March, but is chargeable from 1 April onwards.
Two types of Rover ticket are available, a 72 hour ticket which runs from noon on Friday until noon on Monday priced at £10 and an 8-day ticket priced at £26.
Both ticket types can be purchased in the Tourist Information Centre.
They permit you to park in most council run car parks on the seafront and in the town centre (not Howard Street, Marina Centre North, Marina Centre South or Middlegate) for 8 consecutive days from the date of purchase.
Rover Tickets can also be bought in advance of your stay - please telephone 01493 846346 to order but please allow at least 10 working days for your order to be processed and sent out.
The voucher parking scheme allows non-residents to park in the new shared use bays within Residents Zone A. Buy a parking voucher from one of the outlets listed and park between 9am and 4pm for just £3 – handy for the beach and Great Yarmouth’s shops and attractions.
