Great Yarmouth Festival of Bowls

Great Yarmouth Festival of Bowls is the biggest outdoor open bowling event in the country, with more than 1200 participants competing in men's, ladies and mixed teams for singles, pairs, triples and fours titles over four weeks of play at the Britannia Bowling Greens on Great Yarmouth seafront.

Spectators can really enjoy the event too, with plenty of benches and seating around the arena from which to watch the day's play.

The 2017 Festival of Bowls is set to take place from Sunday 27 August to Friday 22 September 2017, organised by the Great Yarmouth Bowls Committee, under the watchful eye of Tournament Manager Derek Webster (BEM) in association with the Tourism Division of Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

The 2017 Open Triples Tournament will take place over the weekend of Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 July 2017. The closing date for entries for the Open Triples Tournament is 12 May 2017.

Men's Singles
The winner receives the Great Yarmouth Council Challenge Trophy & £1,500. The runner up receives the Claud Laws Cup & £700. The losing semi-finalists receive £200 each & losing quarter finalists £75 each.

Men's Pairs
The winners receive the Carlton Challenge Cup & £250 each. The runners up receive the Annette Hinson Cup & £100 each. Losing semi-finalists receive £50 each.

Under 30’s Open Singles

The winner receives the Raymond Harvey Driver Memorial Cup & £300. The runner up receives £150 & losing semi- finalists receive £75 each. Losing quarter finalists receive £25 each.

Dress Code
Dress for all games up to the semi-finals will be white tops or official bowls clothes with grey trousers for men. Trousers or skirts for ladies. If registered club shirts are worn, all players in the rink must wear identical tops.Caps or hats if worn must be white. All committee members and umpires to act on dress code.

The semi-finals and finals will be red or blue shirts (provided), white trousers or skirst and white bowling shoes. The committee will wear whites for all the finals.
