One upon a time in the port of Great Yarmouth King John gave the good folk the right to govern themselves, free from continual intervention from his men in perpetuity to hold a market and trade their fish. This is now known as The King John 1208 Charter, and the rest is history, please join us and hear how we became one of the greatest fishing ports in medieval England and see some of our oldest buildings.
