The Norfolk Broads are packed with great attractions within easy reach of Great Yarmouth, making the seaside resort a great base from which to explore.

Family days out

There are some wonderful places for family days out during your Great Yarmouth holiday such as Bewilderwood where kids can get active in the fresh air in the magical woodland setting with fantasy woodland creatures. In the heart of the Broads, Wroxham Barns is a popular place to visit in Norfolk with something for everyone. For hands on fun, children will love Junior Farm with its fluffy and furry residents while everyone will enjoy watching painters, potters and jewellers making gorgeous gifts available to buy. Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens with its terrific tiger enclosure and Bure Valley Railway are also popular with many visitors.

Historic Norfolk

Even more unusual and eye opening, the Royal Air Force Air Defence Museum allows you into the secret world of radar detection, while for a more sedate afternoon visit one of the magnificent windmills or windpumps such as the National Trust Horsey Windpump with stunning views across Horsey Mere and the characteristic flat landscape.

One of the most appealing things about the Norfolk Broads is the calm and tranquillity of the landscape. There are some hidden treasures where you can leave the busy world behind such as Fairhaven Woodland & Water Garden. Ancient woodland and bubbling water gardens combine to create an outstanding attraction in Norfolk. There are also many walking trails including Wherryman’s Way and cycle routes to tackle like the Bure Valley Cycle Path.
