South of Great Yarmouth is 'arguably' East Anglia's 'best kept' secret. Further south is Hopton and Corton
Gorleston
Gorleston has its own bay with sandy beaches stretching into the distance. The beach is a firm favourite with the locals whilst the visitors who happen upon this Greater Yarmouth ‘gem’ have also discovered not only the beach, but a friendly excellent range of accommodation.
Safe bathing, wind surfing and yachting can be enjoyed by both the active and passive spectator. On the cliff top you’ll find pretty gardens, bowling greens, trim trail, tennis courts and panoramic views from the harbour mouth.
Gorleston has an array of restaurants and entertainment from its own golf course to pitch and putt, amusement park to nightspot and Gorleston Pavilion Theatre - with popular running seaside shows.
Hopton & Corton
Hopton-on-Sea is a friendly seaside village just south of Gorleston. The village has a character all of its own and a history to match, including the old St Margaret’s Church ruins. There are amusement arcades, homely village pubs and a nightspot. Hopton is also home to some ‘award winning’ family holiday centres and the World Indoor Bowls Championships.
Moving further south is Corton; another popular coastal area and home of a favourite family Holiday Park
