Eel Sett Guided Walk

Eel Sett Guided Walk

Eel Sett Guided Walk

Enjoy a 3-mile (5km) walk on established footpaths (including the Weavers' Way) and some minor roads. There is uneven ground but there are no assents. Visit a church, a traditional eel sett and a bird hide overlooking a nature reserve. Comfortable walking shoes and weatherproof clothing are essential.

The walk incorporates a visit to a traditional eel sett. This is a small hut on the riverside from which an eel fisherman would set his nets overnight between tides. The hut has some original features, and an explanation of its function will be given.

The walk will commence and conclude at St Nicholas' Church, Potter Heigham. There is limited parking for cars. Children over age 8 welcome. Bring your own refreshments.

Dogs allowed on leads. This business or organisation is taking part in the Love the Broads visitor giving scheme.

Walk Route: Circular

Access: Some uneven ground

Miles: 3
