In spring you can watch the displays of courting redshanks and lapwings. In winter you can see huge flocks of wigeon, lapwing and golden plover joined by avocets, godwits, teal, little egrets and a host of other water birds.
There is no access by car to Berney Marshes and Breydon Water. You can reach the reserve by train to Berney Arms Station (request stop) from Norwich or Great Yarmouth, or walk along the footpath from Great Yarmouth.
