Details

Enjoy a venture into a mini winter wonderland at Redwings Caldecott this December when the visitor centre hosts its first ‘Traditional Christmas Fayre’.

Held in the beautiful marquee at Caldecott Hall, you’ll be able to browse a wide variety of stalls showcasing unique goods - from artisan food to jewellery, from wreaths to children’s toys - providing plenty of Christmas gift inspiration and all those magical little touches to help make your home feel truly festive.

If you’re looking for tips on how to cook up the perfect Christmas lunch, you can also watch a chef demonstration and ask all those burning questions to help solve your cooking conundrums.

You’ll even have the chance to purchase and take home a freshly-cut Christmas tree, as well as relax with a mulled wine or a warming hot chocolate after a busy day’s shopping!

Adoption Star donkey Esther will also be making an extra special appearance, as well as Redwings mascots Red and Wings, to ensure everyone receives a warm welcome and to enjoy plenty of festive cuddles with our visitors.

We hope to see you there!

    Notes

Rewings Caledcott Visitor Centre gives people the opportunity to meet some of the sanctuary's rescued horse and donkey residents and learn about how the charity cares for them. The centre is situated on a flat 70 acre site with a grass car park and flat concrete walkways leading to the reception. A Gift Shop, Cafe and Horsewise Education room, are all within close reach of the reception area on concrete paths and flat grass tracks. Toilets, including a disabled access toilet and baby changing facilities are located on the ground floor with flat entrance ways, ramps and open doors. Stables and grazing areas surround the key facilities so that all visitors have the opportunity to see and get close to the horses without having to travel too far. Flat grass tracks make up the site's 'Paddock Walks' with two marked trails. The first is 1km and takes approximately 30 minutes. There are numerous benches and resting points along the way. The second is 1.5km and takes approximately 50 minutes. again there are resting points and most areas of the track are flat however there is some undulating land. Around the site there is information and signage displayed in large print to educate visitors about horse care and welfare and to introduce them to equines living at the site. When possible, the staff undertake tractor tours, talks and demonstrations, many of which are free of charge and suitable for all ages. A wheelchair is available for loan and staff are always on hand to assist however they can so that everyone can enjoy their visit. We look forward to welcoming you. If you have any queries or require any assistance please phone our visitor helpline on 0870 040 0033, visit our website www.redwings.co.uk/visiting or email info@redwings.co.uk
