Conservation Training Update

Conservation Training

Five weeks of Conservation training for the scores project started on Thursday 27th June 2019. The training offers practical experience in learning the process and skills involved in working with historic buildings and structures such those on the Lowestoft Scores.

This includes surveying and recording, looking at materials such as brick, stone and flint and using lime mortar. The sessions are held at the Heritage Workshop Centre on Wildes Score and has been organised by the Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust.

They have had support from Steven Briggs and John Briggs from Medieval Masonry, John Stannard from the Heritage Workshop Centre, Iain Tubby from C.A.Design Services Ltd, East Suffolk Council - Elizabeth Martin Senior Conservation Officer and Karen Staples the HAZ Programme Manager, Architect Lenko Grigorov from the Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust and Azalia Sargsyan, Assistant Conservation Officer at Great Yarmouth Borough Council.
