FREE Visual Arts CPD

Norfolk Museums are delighted to be working with three fantastic local artists to deliver a FREE Visual Arts CPD on Thursday 7th November from 1-5pm at Skippings Gallery. This CPD will enable you to take more risks in the classroom and demonstrates links to the curriculum (KS1/2).

Learn how to let go of your artistic inhibitions with this hands-on workshops:

• Genevieve Rudd will help teachers to create complete drawings without the worry of being ‘able to draw’. The drawings will be big, colourful, and made collaboratively to help loosen up your work.
• Kaitlin Ferguson will look at ‘Drawing in Space - How to make the leap from 2D to 3D’. Learn how to let go of your drawing inhibitions with experimental approaches which will form the foundation to creating sculptures. Using a range of wire techniques, take your 2D ideas and translate them into 3D forms. The session will provide a chance to experiment in a supported creative environment.
• Amy Stock will be focusing on posters. Explore the visual elements to express ideas in their simplest form, encouraging the maker to see how powerful simplicity and composition can be, and not worry about always creating something complex. Another immersive, hands-on session.

The CPD is open to all schools in Great Yarmouth, the surrounding areas and Lowestoft.

All of this is free and lunch will be provided. Please let Emma Price know if you would like to book a place, letting her know what visual arts experience you have (none is absolutely fine!) and if you have any particular dietary requirements.
