Making Waves Together

Underground Gallery is part of Making Waves Together, led by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Waveney District Council, which is seeing communities and organisations in both towns work together to inspire and engage our communities as both participants and audiences. All this is made possible through the Great Place Scheme, delivered by Arts Council England, the Heritage Lottery Fund and supported by Historic England.

The gallery is providing a canvas for Reprezent Project to test new ideas and approaches to their work, enabling them to showcase their creativity and vision for the town. As part of the first underpass, local and European artists came together to turn the passageway into creative space which evolved over a couple of weeks during the Air Show and developed into the final artwork which can be seen now. The artwork at the underpass near Asda makes the place more vibrant and welcoming but also inspires and engages local people and the second underpass has the same ambition, that to starts a conversation about living in the town today and the heritage of the town.
