originalprojects; are hosting two free exhibition at their new venue Ex Marks the Spot. There is a choice of Brilliant Folk Art, an exhibition of Jaodong Window Paper-Cutting and Two Points East & The Art of the Book Cover, covering Judith Ellis’ illustrated book that presents a view of maritime Norfolk.

Ex Marks the Spot is located at 3-7 King Street, Great Yarmouth (the old Marks and Spencer site), and is open noon to 6pm Thurs, Fri and Sat.

Join Captain Crabbe, and his feline friend Admiral, at the Lowestoft Museum for maritime museum adventures starting this Easter, between 10-4pm. Young explorers can answer the captain's questions and win Admiral's stamp or maybe use the Treasure Map to find your way around and take the Fish 'n' Ships Quiz.

Hands-on History

Every Tuesday 10.30 to 11.30 am

Each week the Hands-on History Hour features a star object from the museum’s collections to get up close to and explore. The weekly sessions support the town’s Social Prescribing initiative and is open to adults who want to get out, meet new people and share their love of history.

The sessions are based in the Community Gallery of the Time and Tide Museum. The informal sessions are free of charge and drop-in so no need to book.

Untold Tales

Register Your Interest

The Marina Theatre’s school playwriting festival returns for 2019 and they'd love to have you onboard. Untold Tales explores stories and how they work, encouraging young people to get creative and helping them capture their ideas on paper in the form of play scripts. Lowestoft Maritime Museum

30th April 2019 - 3.30pm to 5.00pm

Lowestoft Maritime museum will launch their updated schools resource, Ben’s Quest, at a twilight CPD at the museum. Poetry People will also be launching their brand new linked activity for schools. Creative Centre Summit

The Creative Centres Summit will explore the changing nature of town centres and high streets and the role of creatives (individuals and organisations) in creating great places in this dynamic environment.

15th June 2019

In partnership with Lowestoft Museum, Glass House Dance along with members of the local community will be unearthing stories from the exhibitions and share them through a dance performance in Nicholas Everitt Park on 15th June 2019.

The exhibitions will come to life, spilling out into the park through dance and music in a joyful celebration of the museum and the craftspeople that used to live in the town. The performances will take place at 11am and 1.30pm.

The Library of Limited Resources

21st June 2019

The Library of Limited Resources is a collaborative project between Rory Cleary, Georgia Battye, Eduardo Sant’Anna and originalprojects that explores adaptable and sustainable ways of living.

At dawn on Friday 21st June they will start to build the Library on the beach, constructing a space for First Light Festival-goers to contribute to an urgent discussion about coastal erosion. The project will gather crowd-sourced knowledge around services, materials and inspirations that reside in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, compiling a toolkit of means to responsibly create adaptable and sustainable ways of living.
