New date confirmed for Great Yarmouth Air Show 2018

Great Yarmouth Air Show

A major new seaside Air Show has been confirmed for Great Yarmouth next summer.

All eyes will be on the skies on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June 2018, with the event expected to bring with it a £10m boost to the local economy.

Journalists are invited to an official announcement at the Town Hall on Thursday, 2 November 2017.

Speakers at the event include Gareth Brown, chairman of the Greater Yarmouth Tourism and Business Improvement Area, Ian Hacon, Air Show sponsorship director and Sheila Oxtoby, Great Yarmouth Borough Council chief executive.

Nathan Race, general manager of title sponsor Haven Seashore, will be available for interview, alongside Geoff Tucker from Norse, another confirmed sponsor.

There will also be an opportunity to meet Al Coutts, pilot with the Wildcats Aerobatics team – one of the many display teams to be flying high above Great Yarmouth next summer.

Graham Plant, council leader and chairman of the policy and resources committee, said: “The council recognises the importance of this two-day event, which promises to bring a massive boost to the local economy in June 2018, and we look forward to the spectacle of aeroplanes wowing huge crowds on the seafront.

“The council is working with the Tourism BID and other authorities to help ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.”
