Wildcats go loopy over Great Yarmouth

Aerial action from the Wildcats as they did an aerobatic recce over Great Yarmouth. Buzzing and billowing smoke against a blue sky, a pair of aerobatic planes looped the loop over Great Yarmouth’s piers and seashore as an appetiser to the upcoming air show.

The pre-show “recce” by the Wildcats team gave a flavour of the flying action crowds will enjoy during the June 16-17 event.

Video and still pictures taken by on-board cameras shows them swooping over the Outer Harbour, along the Golden Mile, and turning upside town over the Britannia Pier.

Al Coutts, one of the pilots from the Norfolk-based team, said: “We like to recce places where possible and especially new venues. It reveals things you cannot see from maps and satellite images, like spotlights on tall poles at the Outer Harbour.

“We are really excited about the show at Great Yarmouth which has got a fantastic line-up of displays.”

The Wildcats are performing both days.
