How to get to Great Yarmouth
It's easy to get to Great Yarmouth and when you get here, you can pick up a local map of Great Yarmouth seafront and town area free in the front of the What's On in Great Yarmouth booklet, which should be on display in your accommodation reception. You'll also find money off vouchers in the centre pages. Alternatively, you can download a map or the Greater Yarmouth app before you come. A larger map of the whole borough is available in the Tourist Information Centre on Marine Parade priced at just fifty pence.
By Road
The region is easily accessible by road from all parts of the UK. Major trunk roads into Norfolk are the M11, A11, A47 (previously the A12) and A14 from London and the south-east, while the A47 and A14 serve the Midlands and the North. The A11 is now dualled all the way from London to Norwich. By Rail
There are intercity services between Norwich and London Liverpool Street, with local connecting services within East Anglia. The average journey time from London to Great Yarmouth is 2 hours 20 minutes. Connecting services are available from the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland, via Peterborough, Cambridge and Ely. There are also local links from Norwich to Great Yarmouth.
By Boat
Plenty of visitors come to Great Yarmouth by boat along the Broads and moor up at the Yacht Station or in nearby Burgh Castle. The Yacht Station is only a short walk from the town and seafront. There are plenty of other places to moor up along the way too, see our Broads Guide for more information.
By Air
Norwich International Airport is a 35 minute drive from Great Yarmouth with direct flights to a number of UK airports. Direct and connecting flights also link East Anglia to over 650 worldwide destinations via Amsterdam.
By Ferry
Car and passenger ferries operate daily to and from Harwich in Essex which is a 60 minute drive from Great Yarmouth. Ferries operate to and from Hook of Holland, Esbjerg and Europort.
