Great entertainment all over Greater Yarmouth

Great Yarmouth has loads of things to do all year round with a great programme of events including circus and theatre shows, exciting race meetings and firework displays in high summer. Find out what's on this week or check out our listings for next month so you can make the most of your day trip, holiday or short break.

Get that festival flavour from May to September in Greater Yarmouth

If you like the thought of a festival, then Greater Yarmouth's the place to be. The Martham Scarecrow Festival gets the festival season off to a flying start in May.

In June, you can find the Great Yarmouth Arts Festival which includes a carnival procession, music performances as well as art exhibitions, swiftly followed by the first Haven Great Yarmouth Air Show with aerial displays taking place along the seafront from 1pm-5pm including the RAF Red Arrows giving performances on both days. The Golden Mile will be pedestrianised for the weekend with lots of extra fun things to see and do. Other aircraft making an appearance over the weekend include the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, RAF Tutor Display Team, the Bremont Great War Display Team plus lots more. The annual Great Yarmouth Beer & Cider Festival will round of the month with a range of beers, ciders and ales to taste at St George's Theatre. Also in June, the National Street Rod Association have their annual meet at Great Yarmouth Racecourse with one day open to the public for a huge Show and Shine event.

Hemsby celebrates it's maritime location in summer with a number of festivals and fetes focused on the independent lifeboat service and the Hemsby herring. 

A selection of brass bands play at Gorleston-on-Sea bandstand from June to August against the beautiful backdrop of the beach and cliffs.

The Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival is in July this year and is set to bring some classic cars to the golden mile as well as thousands of motorbikes for the Motorcycle Takeover.

The month long Festival of Bowls gets underway in August, running into September, the main festival month in Great Yarmouth featuring the Great Yarmouth Maritime Festival, the Out There International Festival of Street Arts and Circus as well as the Eastern Festival of Racing and Heritage Open Days.

For a more chilled out event, plan on joining a guided heritage walk, which run from from May to October - you'll look at Great Yarmouth from a completely unexpected perspective once you've finished.
