Skate Yarmouth - ice rink booking information

The ice rink is brought to you by Great Yarmouth Borough Council (‘GYBC') to support retail footfall and the local economy over the all-important festive season, as part of the its wider Town Centre Initiative project to boost the town centre. Great Yarmouth Borough Council has employed Arena (Structures) UK and its partners to install, manage and staff the ice rink on its behalf.

The use of an ice skating rink and its’ facilities have an inherent risk. Any participation is therefore totally at the user’s own risk. No responsibility is accepted or undertaken for the well-being of either the user or their property.

Staff reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to refuse admission or remove from the premises anyone without a ticket or not abiding by the rules of the rink. Ice rink staff are entitled to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of all visitors.

The minimum age requirement for any customer to use the ice rink is 4 years and over. Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Ice rink staff reserve the right to refuse entry to the ice rink for any customer under this age requirement.

It is your responsibility to check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified. All tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the ice rink. Tickets cannot be cancelled, resold, exchanged, refunded or transferred. To do so or to alter or deface any ticket will render it void.

The ticket holder has a right only to an ice skating session to the value corresponding to that stated on the ticket. Each skating session is 45 minutes in duration. Ticket holders will not be permitted to continue skating once their allocated session is over.

Ice skating is not suitable for pregnant women or anyone with a heart condition. If you have any medical condition that may be affected by skating, please let ice rink staff know before you start to skate.

If you are skating alone, please give your name and emergency contact details to ice rink staff.

Each skater is responsible for arriving at their session at least 15 minutes before the session time starts. Neither GYBC nor ice rink staff are liable for any reason, if the visitor turns up late and misses their session, nor are they obliged to refund the ticket, or reallocate a new session time.

The ice rink operates in almost all weather conditions. Occasionally, inclement weather can disrupt an open air event. In the unlikely event any session is cancelled or curtailed, an alternative session (subject to availability) or a refund will only be offered if less than 30 minutes of skating has taken place.

Staff are entitled to remove anyone from the venue at any time who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol or who in the reasonable opinion of ice rink staff is conducting themselves in a manner inappropriate to their continued attendance.

For health and safety reasons, smoking, eating, drinking and the use of photographic and recording equipment or mobile phones is prohibited whilst skating on the ice rink.

Neither GYBC nor ice rink staff accept responsibility for damage, loss or theft of any personal property that occurs whilst ticket holders are attending the event.

By entering the site, visitors consent to being photographed, filmed or recorded at the ice rink venue and consent to such photographs, films or recordings being used by GYBC to publicise the event or the borough in the future.

The ice rink caters for disabled users and wheelchair users, provided that they are accompanied by a carer at all times. Ice rink staff cannot provide a carer, nor act as a carer. The ice rink does not cater for motorised wheelchairs or scooters.

Online ticket sales are kindly provided by Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s partner, Greater Yarmouth Tourism and Business Improvement Area Ltd.
